Altar is complete and barn is underway! {Bridle Oaks Barn} {Deland, FL}

Well, today I write with exciting news… The altar is finished !
We still have oak benches coming for seating, and I need to tile
the top of the table, but other than that, we are complete! BIG thanks
 to my mom and Lilly for cleaning all those small window panes too.

The team of barn builders came this week and started arranging posts
and beams to construct the barn. They are a very nice group of guys,
who hopefully won't mind their photos from afar on my blog.
The barn will be complete in approx. 8-10 weeks. I will be blogging
as it's constructed so keep an eye out for that. We have a memorial
at Bridle Oaks for my great Aunt on April 7th. I will show you photos
of our purchased chairs and tables after that. Exciting times !
Have a GREAT EASTER SUNDAY my friends!

Our First Event was Awesome ! {Bridle Oaks Barn} {Doug's 40th!}

Well, Our first event was so much fun that we didn't get home
until 1:00am. If you knew me, you'd know something was
definitely going right over at Bridle Oaks Barn!
 This was my amazing brother's 40th birthday. My sister in law
had planned such a fun and cool birthday for my brother with
all his longtime friends and of course, our family.
The greatest thing is that my brother, Doug, has some
REALLY INCREDIBLE
people in his life and circle of friends. We had world-class
skydivers, doctors, pilots,  EXTREMELY talented musicians,
serpentarium owners, skiers, snowboarders, poets, painters,
and a host of crane operators ! LOL  A grand collection of people all to
celebrate this great guys life and milestone birthday.
 Everything with the first test of the cocktail barn went smooth.
Acoustics were great, lighting, and parking…. everything was
just cozy and unique. I can't wait for some special brides to experience the
uniqueness and fun that Bridle Oaks Barn has to offer!

We've broke ground …. and we have a BLUE floor! { Bridle Oaks Barn }

Exciting news to share on this happy Friday !
Bridle Oaks Barn, the REAL barn, the BIG barn
has broken ground! It's only a matter of approx. 8 weeks and
our reception and event barn will be finished. My father
was one happy camper to see these bulldozers out there
today, and so were we ! Falcon was eyeing the bright yellow
bulldozers with suspicion, just yesterday we were riding out
there on a flat, large pasture area. In other news… our cocktail
barn (otherwise known as The Coop) now has an awesome stained
blue floor. It looks fantastic, and really adds a bright pop of
color to our venue. We have also started some more serious
landscaping. Today 45 Flax Lily's were added in some border areas.
Next up…. the finishing touches on our outdoor altar area and
new fencing out front at the entrance area.

Have a fantastic weekend!

BIG day for Bridle Oaks ! {Rustic wedding venue}

Well today was a huge day at the Bridle Oaks Barn... Our animals
came home to stay! Falcon, our horse, joined Finch, our donkey
(hopefully his best mate), to check out their new digs and get to know
each other. They only rubbed noses today. In a few days we will
let them be together for a little while. When Falcon realized he had
a potential friend staying over, he got VERY excited... as you can see
in this video. He kept running back over to the fence where he
could see Finch. Ashley and I are as excited as can be about our
new additions! We even took a Falcon Selfie! The rain made it a bit of a
bummer, as I would've stayed out there longer, but tomorrow is a new day
and I'll run over first thing to see how they did. Falcon would be a great horse
for a bride to ride into her ceremony on, so if anyone is interested in that,
let me know!
(check out this last photo, where Falcon
is totally giving me a kiss on the forehead!)

Falcon and Finch coming home Saturday! { Bridle Oaks Barn }

Well… the time has finally come. This Saturday, our beautiful paso-fino horse
Falcon, and his cohort and partner in crime, Finch, will finally get to meet
each other and check out their new digs too !  Falcon has been with a wonderful
trainer in Deland for two months. He has been getting fit, healthy, and we have also
been taking riding lessons on him. (myself and my sis-in-law Ashley, that is)
We couldn't be more excited to introduce them to their new barn and surroundings.
Ashley and I will continue riding Falcon and learning from Judy, our trainer.
Bridle Oaks barn wouldn't be complete without a couple of farm animals, and we
are truly blessed to have inherited such a great horse with the property. For those
of you who may not know, horses are pack animals and need a friend or two to keep
them happy. Donkeys are wonderful friends for horses. Plus… Finch will also
protect Falcon from any predators (like coyotes) I know it sounds crazy, but it's true!

Photos below!

(Finch has his winter coat on, so he's looking a bit shabby here!)
Oh, and don't they have the cutest little trailer to ride home in?

Bridal Altar under construction ! { Bridle Oaks Barn}

So today was an exciting day at Bridle Oaks Barn !
We have officially started the outdoor altar which is situated
in a beautiful wooded section of the property. Right now this
might look like a pile of old wood to you, but it's going to be an
A M A Z I N G   outdoor altar for all of our brides !
The creation, headed up by our awesome woodworker and all
around "build-it" guy ….   was a collaboration between three people.
Myself,  finding photos of altars I liked, Tigger putting all of our materials together.
 and my father, Ed, had the idea for the angle and location of the altar.
Last in line here is the main photo for my inspiration (thank you Pinterest!)
and the photos of the beginning of something really great!

Thanks for reading!
**More news to come very soon on some cool lighting fixtures…

Logo design is complete!

Ok Guys… here we go with the final version of the logo for Bridle Oaks !
Sometimes you just have to give in and let go and be done
with something. I had so many great opinions and I really did take
 so many different things into consideration.
This has to be completed, because I need to move on to other
things now! (So I hope you like it.) Getting a Facebook page up
tonight, although photos and such will be coming slowly.
I believe a late summer / early fall  completion date
is perfectly reasonable. The property and barns won't be ready to
show until the reception barn is completed. I'll let you know as that
gets going. Falcon, the property's beautiful horse will be coming home
at the end of February. Just in time for Spring !
Stay tuned!
